Using Image URL hosting? Well stop it!

So you know those Image hosting URLs on the web? Well, you should consider on stop using it.

Here's the list of reasons why:

  1. Anyone can "bot" scan the image url and they can gain into the following (not limited to)
    • Personal information
    • Private messages
  2. It's just not cool to do it, if the chat service you use has the uploader built in, then use it.
  3. It's simply just a waste of time.
In conclusion, if you just use any image uploader URL you found on the web just to be hip or edgy, please stop use of the service.

Unless you're not a tool and disable directory browsing?

  2. First one: Look at "Thomas Robinson"'s comment
Second: Some people don't want to use the stock uploader, especially on some services that have bad uploaders, or if you want to share the same image across multiple platforms without reuploading the image multiple times (etc. if you're posting on limited mobile data, image URL hosting is good)
Third: For full-screen screenshots, ShareX can set it up so that you just press PrintScreen, and then the URL is in your clipboard. For partial screenshots, it's just as quick for those, and ShareX has many more options for screenshots, like blur and pixelate (which are useful for blocking out information), etc.
